Job Description:
Ingredion is hiring a Senior Associate to lead our Meat/Meat
Alternative and Batters & Breading Applications teams and support
management of the Englewood Idea Labs facility. The role will be
responsible for managing projects and functional portfolio,
developing new ingredients and solutions, publishing technical and
go-to-market materials, overseeing preparation of customer
prototypes and documentation, and supporting key customer projects.
The Senior Associate will lead and support multidisciplinary new
product development and applied research projects. As Senior
Associate, Meat/Meat Alternatives and Batters & Breading
Applications, your responsibilities will include: Developing and
furthering Meat/Meat Alternatives and Batters & Breading strategy
working with global and regional teams to identify and bring new
ingredients to market. Identify current gaps and develop new
capabilities and expertise.Develop relationships with customers in
target markets and work with internal & external resources/partners
to deliver formulated solutions and technical information to
support customer projects globally. Working with global teams to
understand project/market needs in international sectors, define
shared work plans, and gain support/input throughout project
timelines.Developing new meat/poultry/seafood/alternatives and
batters & breading concepts leveraging ingredients and processes
which can be applied globally. Using extensive industrial expertise
to develop and commercialize new ingredients and
technologies.Ensuring team designs and conducts appropriate
experiments in the laboratory and pilot plant to advance projects
to completion.Developing technical presentations to be presented at
key industry organization meetings and trade shows.Keeping
appropriate records to support IP strategy and develop patent
applications. Conducting prior art searches (literature, patents)
related to projects and stay abreast of meat science and batter &
breading technology and external environment (market trends, IP
landscape).Developing training plans and mentor/grow the team. The
Senior Associate, Meat/Meat Alternatives and Batters & Breading

drive for invention and innovation Qualified candidates will have:
MS/PhD in Food Science or other relevant field with 7 to 10+ years'
of hands on experience in food formulation and solid understanding
of food science principles.
Meat Science and alternative meat expertise is highly
preferred.Knowledge in Meat (processed meat, poultry and seafood
formulations) and ability to operate meat equipment (bowl chopper,
injectors, smoke house etc.) is highly desirableKnowledge of
hydrocolloids, starches and plant-based protein functionality in
application is an advantage.Hands-on application development using
laboratory equipment, pilot plant equipment and plant
equipment.Demonstrated project leadership and communications
skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and
interact with cross-functional teamsExcellent verbal and written
technical communication skills e.g. making high impact
presentations internally and to customers and writing technical
reportsExperience with experimental design, statistical data
analysis, and interpretation of results is highly preferred.Travel
required to visit customers, run tests at external facilities,
visit other Ingredion facilities globally etc. Frequent travel to
Bridgewater, NJ will be required. #LI-MU1
