Rock Team Youth Coach We are seeking a TeamGrippen Coach to lead
our Jr. Sasquatch and Sasquatch youth climbers aged 8-18 who are
eager to enhance their climbing skills and compete in
USAC/ASCL/ÜG’s Juggerknots League. The coach will collaborate
closely with our Head Coach to deliver engaging programming that
fosters transformative experiences and imparts essential life
skills. Coaching Hours: Applicants must be able to work weekday
evenings - primarily Monday & Wednesday evenings. Jr. Sasquatch
Team (8-11): 4:15p - 6:45p Sasquatch Team (11-18): 7:15p - 9:45p
Applicants may be asked to work a few weekends for competitions,
which may include travel, but this is something that we’ll discuss
and work with you on based on your interest and availability.
Requirements Communicate effectively and professionally with
athletes, coaches, parents, and organizational leadership.
Demonstrate proficiency in bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing,
including techniques like footwork, body positioning, movement
efficiency, and route reading. Maintain a positive and engaging
demeanor while working with young climbers, ensuring a fun and
supportive environment. Adapt coaching methods to accommodate
various ability levels and learning styles. Apply enjoyable
climbing instruction to our curriculum and class goals. Implement
our training curriculum to ensure high engagement and learning
effectiveness. Supervise youth climbers during all climbing,
bouldering, and belaying activities. Manage administrative tasks
including roster management, training tracking, organizing practice
notes, and parent communication. Collaborate with our coaching
staff and management to address issues and concerns promptly.
Facilitate mentorship opportunities and personal development for
team members. Preferences CWA Climbing Wall Instructor Level 3
Certification -or- ability to become certified at a CWI Course
offered by ÜG prior to the start of coaching responsibilities.
SafeSport Certification -or- ability to complete SafeSport Training
prior to the start of coaching responsibilities. First Aid / CPR /
AED Certification or ability to complete the First Aid / CPR / AED
Training prior to the start of coaching responsibilities. Climbs a
minimum of V5 and 5.12a Up to date with the USAC, ASCL & ÜG Youth
League Competition formats; enough to effectively assist team
members with preparation, strategies during, and review/analysis.

coaching hours, additional hours at ÜG can be found by working as a
Team Leader & Climbing Instructor . Compensation Starting
compensation $15.50/hr with pay increases for staff after
completing CWI and CPR certifications and basic job training,
completing ÜG Youth Climbing Instructor training and working
regular youth program coaching shifts. Availability Form: Please
